#3 – REVENGE IS PLAYING GOD…

‘When Jacob learned that there was grain in Egypt, he said to his sons, “Why do you just keep looking at each other?” He Continued, “I have heard that there is grain in Egypt. Go down there and buy some for us, so that we may live and not die.” Then ten of Joseph’s brothers went down to buy grain from Egypt.’ Genesis 42:1-3

‘Now Joseph was the governor of the land, the one who sold grain to all its people. So when Joseph’s brothers arrived, they bowed down to him with their faces to the ground.’ Genesis 42:6

‘Joseph saw his brothers and recognized them, but he acted as a stranger to them and spoke roughly to them. Then he said to them, “Where do you come from?” And the said, “From the land of Canaan to buy food. So Joseph recognized his brothers, but they did not recognize him.’ Genesis 42:7-8

1. Don’t Strike Back—Strike Up A Conversation With God

‘God give me patience… God, help me do what you want me to do.’

2. Pray For Your Enemies

‘You have heard that it was said, “You shall love your neighbor and hate you enemy.” But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; ‘ Matthew 5:43-45

3. Consider Your Egypt… The People Watching You

‘I waited patiently for the Lord, he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire. He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise, many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord. Psalm 40:1-3

‘Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody.’ Romans 12:17

4. Hire A Lawyer…

‘I will be your lawyer to plead your case, and I will avenge you.’ Jeremiah 51:36

‘Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.’ Romans 12:19
